About Lutz Huelle
"After completing his Fashion Degree at London's Central St Martin's and a three-year stint as Designer working with Martin Margiela on his Artisanal and Knitwear Collections, Lutz launched his eponymous Label in Paris with partner David Ballu in 2000. A twice winner of the ANDAM Award, the biggest Fashion Prize in France, and the Ackermann Pret-a-Porter Prize at GWAND in Lucerne

, Switzerland, Lutz' approach has been described as "Decontextualisation": taking things out of context, reinventing ways to wear a classic wardrobe, working on structure, volume and identity. A trenchcoat is draped to turn into a dress, vice versa a dress is cut in heavy cotton to be worn as a coat. His way of mixing and matching different genres and types of garments- Sportswear and Evening, Casual and Formal, Feminine and Masculine turned out to be prophetic- it has since become an integral part of the fashion landscape. Lutz has been a consultultant at MaxMara Fashion Group since 2000, and is a visiting Tutor on the Central St Martin's MA in London and the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale in Paris.

Spring 2026 ✨ Pick a favorite 🤗

„Bourgeois dressing has never really been my thing. Too rigid, too constrained. It has always meant adhering to strict codes- the opposite of freedom. And yet, there’s a certain security to it, an ease to the bourgeois uniform that I find deeply fascinating- one that feels especially comforting and right for the times we live in. And then there’s the underlying sexual tension inherent to these codes, which I love.

Parisian fashion has always been about rigid bourgeois codes while at the same time rebelling against them. It’s this history of continuous friction that makes Paris such an interesting and vital place for fashion. Paris loves the chic and the bourgeois, the traditional values of feminine beauty- but it continuously pushes against the status quo, against old dress codes and outdated social rules.
In a sense, this describes my own work perfectly: obsessed with classicism and perfection, yet always craving the imperfect, the accidental, the unruly, the unexpected.

So this collection was inspired by Parisian fashion- those classic couture houses that were the embodiment of bourgeois dressing: a little Dior, a little Givenchy, some Saint Laurent, a dash of Balenciaga- all of it reinterpreted through my own obsessions: denim and workwear, sportswear and casual streetwear.“

The idea behind the Oversleeve Coat and Shirt were basically just giving the arm more movement by cutting the shoulder close to the neckline and enlarging the volume of the sleeve.. the more I enlarged the volume of the sleeve the more I liked it, so I just kept going until I arrived at the shape above. Still a favourite and very practical too 😎
