I am .auralavergne ( MA Fashion Design 2021) and I am a spatial designer in fashion events.
I started my career at and I am now at .

A creative day in the world of events is rarely linear.

My days often begin with calls to coordinate the different teams involved. A project is never built alone, it evolves through constant exchange. Everything then becomes a balance between creative intention and technical constraints: we adjust, we check, we decide.

There’s also the material research phase: finding the right tones, testing, comparing, understanding how things will actually look and behave. It’s a very hands-on, almost experimental process.

On a daily basis, I work with a range of profiles from all over the world, creative, technical, production, graphic… and this diversity is what moves the projects forward. We usually handle several projects at once, with site visits to follow progress, adjust, and anticipate what comes next. At the same time, drawing remains central: plans, 3D, visual tests, everything that helps project and refine before production.

And then comes the show. Observing, feeling, understanding.
That’s when everything becomes real, and when you start thinking about how to make it even better next time.

“If you spent the better part of your academic training defending the intellectual seriousness of costume history to people who considered it a slightly embarrassing hobby, the last four fashion weeks have offered a particular kind of quiet satisfaction. The basque jacket is everywhere. Engageantes are back as ruffled lace cuffs from under coat sleeves. Martingales have reappeared on outerwear without anyone seeming to know the word for them.
What is being signaled by a Brandenburg closure or a peplum jacket is, in most cases, not the technique itself but its silhouette. The passementerie is machine-stitched. The basque requires no more construction expertise than a straight hem. What historical detail provides is borrowed semiotic authority: the visual grammar of specialist work, reproduced at speed across every price point. The depth of field of the past without the actual cost. The sign of rootedness, not the roots.
The vocabulary driving all of this spent decades being considered too specialized for serious fashion discourse. It counts, at the very least, as a rather good joke.”

Designer gives us a glimpse into her residency at a fashion residency in partnership with and . Follow her for a very special day in her life.

This morning, other residents of the Villa and I were invited by L’académie de France de Rome to visit one of the private galleries at the Pallazio Farnese, including a tour of its underground passages and ruins. This was followed by a visit to the school’s legendary library.

I then went back to my studio at the Villa, where I finished knitting a panel I’d been working on. Once finished, I hung it up and cut the remaining threads.

Look at these peacocks strolling through the gardens around my studio!

In the evening, a cocktail reception was held to welcome the DGCA, the creative arts inspection division of the Ministry of Culture.
