No it’s not a kids line. That came later.
Junior Gaultier launched in 1988. Young adults, club culture, people who loved Gaultier but couldn’t drop mainline money. Same house, same vision, just a different way in. By 1991 it was doing $120 million. Gone by 1994. Then in 2009 JPG reused the name for an actual children’s collection and that’s when everyone got confused.
Two different things. Same name. This blazer is from the original run.

The last slide is embroidery on wood. On wood!

The new Orient Express isn’t a restoration. It’s a conversation between eras. Maxime D’Angeac spent years assembling around thirty master artisans (cabinetmakers, embroiderers, glassmakers, sculptors) to reimagine 17 original carriages from the 1920s and 30s. Lalique panels, burr elm, velvet, marble, mother-of-pearl. Each embroidered headboard takes close to 300 hours to make.

This is what happens when craft is taken seriously enough to become obsession.
