Victorian Wedding, Antique Communion Souvenir, Antique Bridal Purse, Linen Floral Crown, Antique Wedding Headband.
This is an exceptionally rare and beautiful first communion souvenir dating from the early 1900's.
It consists of a fabulous floral crown, hand made in linen and worn by a very proud girl on her first communion.
A ribbon sash worn I think across her chest, from waist to shoulder, with a lovely bow, I believe it to be silk.
A very pretty hand made purse.
A square of hand made lace.
Two little cardboard boxes with inscriptions inside dated 1910 with cotton wool holding antique wax flowers, the passing of the years has not been kind to these once beautiful flowers but they are original and still there.
Then there is the presentation or display box, with a glass panel, that's right you read it correctly the box has a piece of glass on the front of it to display its contents.
This was sold as a museum piece and the seller did not wish to sell the items separately , neither do I, I believe it should remain together.
The box is falling apart there is no other way to describe it, I am not skilled enough to repair it, and will leave it to the next custodian of this to decide what best to do to preserve it.
What could it be used for today, well its a fantastic display piece in its own right, and would be perfect in a wedding shop display window.
Or used by a bride on her special day if she had a vintage theme. Then kept as a special memories.
