C'est le week-end !

Despite it being dark, cold and hot chocolate weather here in the South of France (the sun doesn't always shine honestly!) we're having a lovely market, film and slippers kind of day. My favourite.

Ornate French candelabra in all its aged beauty. 19th century.

RARE find alert!

It's hard to find cups of this generous size in France so when I saw this one, with all its beautiful staining and 19th century character, my heart skipped a beat !

Libellules/Dragonflies

are often flying around the lake where I swim in the summer. When they mate they make a heart shape with their bodies,

like a flying Valentine.

The less romantic part of the story is that apparently the male grabs the female by the head with its feet in order to make the heart shape 🙄🙄

Anyway, I'm rather grateful there's only one on this gorgeous antique ironstone bowl I have to sell.
