I always love looking back when it shows progress. This is the side garden which isn't totally finished yet but 95% there. For one reason and another its taken a few years to get to this point but certainly coming together now. What's left is down to nature and time.

I always intended to replace the uneven path to the summerhouse, so decided on a gravel path. I used larger stones dug up from the garden as edging, heavy duty woven w**d membrane, MOT type 1 mixed with stone dust as the sub base and finished with pea gravel. It now needs a good clean up and the grass to recover!

I spent some of the dry Spring days putting fencing up around the garden. I used 6x1 treated gravel board which will not only (hopefully) keep the cows and sheep out but will also support the Jasmine and Virginia Creeper we've planted.

Dreaming of summer, this project is from a little while back. I'd love to say it's a summerhouse for shade in a long hot summer but more likely somewhere to sit in the garden whilst it rains 😆. Plans to heavily plant around the summerhouse to help it blend in but they will have wait for a little while.

I wanted to make my own bespoke coving for the living room. I used 11mm MDF as the base and wooden trim for the detail. I finished the coving with wooden craft butterflies (doesn't show very well in the video) which provides a softer overall look. It took a lot of work (especially with bad eyes and a wonky ceiling) but quite pleased with the finish.

May be the light I fitted above the gate is a little too bright? Oh well... can't miss me 😎!

I bought some copper pans a few years ago and always intended to make a pan rack, so finally got round to it. I used wood from an old table I was given from a local church which I think gives a chunky rustic look. Stained in medium oak and three coats of lacquer - done!

I've finally been able to restore this bureau bookcase. I picked it up off Marketplace but it wasn't in the best condition with chipped and bubbling veneer, delaminated ply, broken locks and hinges and old woodworm holes (which I treated - just in case). Now all sorted and looking lovely again.

After nearly four years, I have a back gate! I made it out of treated timber and used the pickets left over from the fence I built last year. Made with half lap joints so big enough and strong enough to keep the cows and sheep out... I hope!!
