At my recent talk in Aboyne, I asked everyone to bring along a mug they’d be happy to donate to a local charity.
That morning, 29 mugs arrived.
And with them came some brilliant (and very relatable) stories…
One had been bought as a gift 15 years ago… and was still sitting in the gift bag.
Another was picked up in Amsterdam airport, bought because it felt like something should be brought home, but never actually used.
It’s such a simple reminder of how things come into our homes… good intentions, quick decisions, “just in case” moments, and then they stay.
But now?
Those mugs can be used, appreciated, and enjoyed by someone else 🤍
What I loved most was hearing a few people say it had already motivated them to go home and look at other kitchen items they no longer use.
That’s how it starts. Not everything at once — just one small decision.
So here’s your gentle nudge…
if you were to pick one item to donate this week, what would it be? ✨
