UNDERSTITCHING
Done on the wrong side of the garment, stitching the facing to the seam allowance. It helps prevent the facing from rolling to the outside and gives your neckline, armhole or waistband a clean finish.

TOPSTITCHING / OVERSTITCHING
Done on the right side of the garment. The stitching is visible and can be used for decoration, definition and reinforcement.
