πŸ“ This week at Sense-a-Story...

We tricked a little mouse into sharing his freshly picked, red, ripe strawberry with us!

We told him that there's a big hungry bear that comes booming through the forest, sniffs out the strawberry and finds it...

Even when it's hidden,
Even when it's locked up,
Even when it's disguised!

We told the mouse that the only way to save the strawberry from the big hungry bear is to cut it in two, and share it with us!

Thank you to everyone for coming, and thank you to the lovely Mummy who suggested 'The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear' by Don and Audrey Wood.

I wonder what story Gerry will choose for us next week πŸ¦‰πŸ“š

🌳 πŸ“– Wild Stories Collective by Sense-a-Story and Nurture The Wild Project invite you deep into the enchanted forest for a Wild Stories Collective original -

'The Forest Fairy' by Stevie Lyon and Paloma Espindola...

Once upon a time, in a forest not too far, there lived a flutter of fairies - how small and pretty they are.

But one fairy was very sad, for she had no wand or wings. She couldn't fly, or sprinkle magic, or do other fairy things.

She visited the fairy queen up in the treetops high, to tell about her problem and maybe find out why.

The fairy queen, so wise and kind, said, "Do not worry my child. The only thing that's missing is your connection to the wild."

Come with us on a multisensory journey through the forest as friendship, curiosity, and connection awaken the Forest Fairy's magic πŸ§šβ€β™€οΈβœ¨οΈ

πŸ¦•The dinosaurs built a swimming pool in this week's story - 'Dinosaur Dig!' by Penny Dale.

This simple activity supports:

Fine motor skills - gripping and releasing the dinosaur

Hand-eye coordination - placing the dinosaur

Visual tracking - following the dinosaur as it slides down

Spatial awareness - understanding position, direction, and how objects move through space

Cognitive skills - focus and attention

Sense-a-Story brings stories to life to nurture children's love of stories, and support their sensory development and early learning skills.

This is just ONE part of the story, imagine the learning and development when the whole thing is brought to life!

This week at Sense-a-Story...

We smelled the dragons' fiery breath, and saw them turn day into night as they covered the sun in big grey clouds of smoke.

They had a birthday party, and ate so much that they fell asleep, and didn't wake up to turn day into night!

But one dragon, who was little bit different, tried her best to fly, breathe fire, and cover the sun in grey, sooty clouds.

We flew with her as she flew over fields, cities and rivers, breathing out huge flames of fire, and covering the sun with...

Clouds of all the colours of the rainbow!

In a different, but beautiful way, she finally became 'The Night Dragon' by Naomi Howarth.

Thank you to everyone for coming. I wonder what story Gerry will choose for us next week πŸ¦‰πŸ“š
