The Cycling Seamstress was rebranded in 2014 by Maria Wright, who has over 30 years experience in bespoke dressmaking, pattern cutting and design. Maria is based in Hurstbourne Tarrant, near Andover Hampshire. As well as offering her bespoke service, she will also undertake alterations or remodelling of your favourite garments. ored to what the client wishes to learn, from beginners to advanced. The Cycling Seamstress is owned and run by Maria, who has been dressmaking and tailoring for many years. Maria offers a professional and personal service to each client, whether it be a simple alteration or a bespoke outfit. Attention to the small details matter to Maria and she is happy to work in consultation with customers to achieve a wonderful 'one-off' garment. The Cycling Seamstress offers top quality bespoke clothing. Clothing alterations, fancy dress and accessories are also undertaken. No job is too small (or too big!) and as Maria has an 'Appointment Only' policy, you can be assured of individual, undivided attention.

Ten years ago today I retired from the civil service & started The Cycling Seamstress business. What an eventful decade it’s been. I’ve spent the last 3 years at The Rural Business Hub, & am now working from my own garden office.

Last week I treated myself to a fitting & a couple of bras at Bravissimo, Reading.
Whilst being fitted I mentioned my business & a lady in the next cubicle enquired about my services to alter a bridesmaid dress. She travels across Berks & Hants for work, brought the dress to me on Tues which I altered while she waited.
