Today was a perfect example of what makes The Grapple Mill so special.
A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to help improve the gym. What started as a job fitting new LED lights turned into another reminder of the incredible community we have built together.
Massive thanks to Garth Paddock, Director of Allied Pipefreezing Services and a valued member of The Grapple Mill, whose generosity helped make this project possible. Thank you also to Lewis for donating one of the lights, along with Andrew, Lee, Zach, Cllr Laura Diamond, and my two sons Josiah and Jonah, who all rolled their sleeves up and got stuck in.
The best part wasn’t just getting the job done. It was the laughter, the banter, the teamwork and the camaraderie throughout the day. There was plenty of hard work, plenty of laughs and a real sense of everyone pulling in the same direction. It’s easy to talk about community, but days like today show what it actually looks like in practice.
The Grapple Mill has never just been a gym. It is a team, a support network and, for many of us, an extended family. Whether people are helping with maintenance, supporting events, coaching classes, competing, or simply encouraging one another through training, there is always someone willing to step forward and help.
What we achieved today was far bigger than fitting a few lights. It was another example of people giving their time freely for the benefit of others, expecting nothing in return except the satisfaction of contributing to something they care about. That kind of spirit cannot be bought and it cannot be manufactured. It comes from having good people around you.
To everyone who helped today, thank you. The gym looks fantastic, but more importantly, days like this remind us why The Grapple Mill is such a special place to be. Together we train, together we grow and, when something needs doing, we pull together and get it done as a family. 💙🙏
Please support Allied Pipefreezing Services and thank everyone involved when you see them in the gym. They helped make a good place even better.
