With the advance of AI, it is becoming more commonplace for Brides to come to thier seamstress with an AI picture of how they want their dress to look and assume it can be done as they have a “photo” of it.
Unfortunately, AI is not a seamstress. It will make your dress look however you want it to, but it’s not always realistic. The structure and the style of dresses all affect what alterations can actually be successfully completed.
A qualified seamstress will always tell you what is possible and what isn’t, they have years of experience and skills in altering wedding dresses and understanding what changes to a dress can be made. A seamstress can only do what the dress allows them to do. If you are told you can’t have what AI has given you, this won’t be because the seamstress can’t or won’t do it, it’s because a computer generated image cannot always become a reality.
If you have bought a dress and want lots of structural changes, you may need to consider this isn’t actually the dress for you. Not only may your vision not be possible, the more alterations you need the more it’s going to cost.
