Stuff Jess Gets Excited About #238

Here we have yesterday's exciting find; a vintage ceramic rolling pin decorated with a purple and blue 'flower power' design. There is no maker's mark whatsoever, but I can assure you that this beauty was produced in the late 60's by Crown Devon, and this iconic floral design, called 'Carnaby Daisy' is the work of none other than Mary Quant, herself! This is the rare purple colour, but the orange pattern is much more common, and they are both highly collectable. Most commonly, this design is found on tea, coffee, and sugar storage jars (some of you may have seen my collection in Quirk, see last photo), as well as sugar and flour shakers, oven-to-table ware, and, occasionally, cruet sets. This is the first rolling pin I have ever come across in the Carnaby Daisy pattern, and a thorough search of the internet yields no photos or information whatsoever.. It doesn't appear to exist! And yet I have one. :) Do you have any pieces in this pattern?

This unique China cabinet was made in the 1950's in an Art Deco style. It's made from walnut and maple, and is in excellent condition (it even has the original key!). It has been a fixture in my shop for a few years now, but as I'm closing the shop, and I can't fit it in my new house, I am reluctantly selling it.. :( Message me with any inquiries. Jess X
