In September of last year I lost my grandad after a long and hard fought battle. At his funeral family and friends came together and donated money which went towards Age UK’s Men in Sheds (now known as “The Hut”).
The reason behind choosing this charity was that they helped my grandad in the past when he was suffering mentally. They provide a workshop where people can get together, craft, build and learn new skills all to fight back against depression.
In addition to the money raised, I spoke with Shell who works at The Hut Barnsley and told her our story and that I would like to create a garment in his memory where all the proceeds go back into the charity that helped him.
So if you’re in Barnsley town centre, go and visit the VintAge UK store just opposite Parkway Cinema and pick up your own Limited Edition “Home” tee or anything for that matter.
