A Nocturne is a rather sad piece of music, but there’s nothing sad about this vibrant ballet skirt!

Nocturne is a handmade circle rehearsal skirt made from a light airy mesh fabric with black elastic waistband.

I called it Nocturne because it made me think of flowers in a night garden, but it’s got deep, bright, subtle and bold colours in the pattern.

I hate to mention back to school, but I sure some of you will be thinking about it, whether that’s back to being a professional dancer after a summer break, back to your adult ballet class, or returning to vocational dance school.

The Red satin chiffon Orlando skirt looks so dramatic in motion. I must mention the maldiredancewear leotard - it’s always such a pleasure to pair one of my skirts with these beautiful pieces 🖤

The Orlando can be custom made in a range of colours and you can go for an elegant, understated shape, or go ridiculously full like this one.

Caitlin needed a very particular colour match for her Solo Seal Exam skirts. The Lycra for the SAB was easy enough - and it’s a sustainable nylon fabric - but the chiffon for the longer skirt took a bit of searching but we got there!

Congratulations Caitlin Le Roux - it’s been so great to see you do so well in your ballet training and I can’t wait to see what’s next!! 🩰🧑🏻‍🩰
