I have been experimenting trying to emulate the internal workings of a jellyfish with laser cut tar and crochet. a few ideas and interesting components have come into being but I have been puzzling over how to connect for display to suspend as piece. Tassels

In previous trials I experimented with varying lengths of tassel as well as gauge of yarn used. The overall drape of the fringe part of the tassel was leasing but the ball part lacked plumpness. The tassels were of basic construction comprised of many individual strands. Some research on tassel construction revealed that added components gave structure and fullness to different areas of the tassel. [ 317 more words ]

Three tassels were produced using the same base cores; each has a core of crocheted flax thread. Laser Cut Tentacles and Fringing Three files were cut to experiment with width, size and drape. Two files were of a frill appearance and the fringed circle spiral. The frilled circle has a pleasing twirl but needs to be retested with varying size of inner circle overall size and end finish. The fringe circle was trialled in two sizes small medium.
