Christmas decorations in fused glass, some using recycled glass. My first time gilding glass using 22 carat gold leaf.

Suncatchers made from recycled glass and fused in the kiln. Suspended from copper chain - I recycled the glass myself coming from a set of Biot glasses and a green water jug that had met unhappy endings. It’s good to make something decorative from broken glasses that I might normally have to throw away. They look beautiful glistening in the sunshine, or can brighten up the garden at any time of the year.

These are some new bowls I have managed not to break so the recipients will have their presents after all!

The trouble with glass is its fragility - this bowl was for a gift and had been through three firings. Only to be dropped shortly after I took it out of the kiln! Not my happiest moment. Still, accidents like this can encourage you to try and see how to make something else out of what remains. This one is fairly intact so could be adapted in some way
