Über Barn is a kid's store specialising in organic apparel for the coolest tiny humans, birthed out of a love for Scandinavian inspired clothes. Bored of the usual high street brands I started importing my kids clothes from Canada and Europe. The constant questions of "Where did you get his/her outfit from?" led me to thinking Northern Ireland was crying out for a store like this!

Is there a better colour combo than navy and grey?? 😍 when it comes to clothes I’m always attracted to neutrals. So our Mössa hats have them covered; navy grey and black.

That wee face 😍 one look at it and all is forgiven for having me up half the night, giving you water every time you cough (so every other minute..) and scratching your itchy legs and rubbing your tummy (he’s very demanding this one) 🙄
He’s been a bit under the weather lately and doesn’t ever want to go out after the school run these mornings but it means I’m being super productive as I’m stuck in the house. I Cleaned and rearranged my kitchen cupboards yesterday and culled my wardrobe, and today I’m gonna work on the living rooms arrangement in preparation for you know what 😉 🎄
Does anyone else get like this coming up to Christmas? Almost like you’re nesting??

This is my wee granny. Currently holed up in hospital after surgery to fix a fracture in her leg (at 92). Before her most recent fall and hospital stay I watched my family rally round her for weeks to help her around the clock with what may seem simple tasks to us, but to a 92 year old with mobility issues were becoming impossible...
My granny is now the most visited person in her ward, with her 4 children, Daughter in law, grandchildren and spouses and great grandchildren regularly breaking the 2 at a time rule and all piling in around her bed. I look around the rest of her ward, and some of the ladies never seem to get a single visitor 😔 this makes me so sad but also so incredibly grateful for the close family bond we have...
It got me thinking about the elderly at Christmas and how some of them literally have no one to spend time with and it’s heartbreaking 💔
I was thinking of running a discount code between now and Christmas on all our stock, but I’ve decided against that, and now I’m going to donate 10% of all SALES to AgeNI, a charity that helps look after the elderly.
I thought this was quite fitting, “buying for the young to help the old”.

This girl... such an interesting mix of sweet, sensitive, kind, sass, attitude.... and LOUD. Im forever saying “inside voice” to her... to them all... the house can feel very noisy and overwhelming at times. Between Archer’s Loud crying after being bashed on the head with a toy by his brother after fighting over said toy, Arlo’s dinosaur roaring as he runs towards his sister to pull her hair, and Rhea’s high pitched yelling after he succeeds... I sometimes need to step outside to escape the chaos for a minute.... before of course going back in to break up the fighting 🤦‍♀️
But I said to andrew one particularly loud evening last week, “we’ll miss this noise when they’ve grown up and are out of the house and it’s just you and me... we’ll be wishing they were kids again making as much noise as they possibly can ...”... and then I started getting emotional. (Which is magnified by the fact I’m already on an emotional hormonal journey right now)😏
So while sometimes it gets too loud and too much and I need a time out, and I’d do anything for more sleep (4 kid wakes up, nappy changes and bed hopping last night plus 5.30 am wake up🙄 try not to be too jealous of me folks..), I know I’ll look back on these years as the happiest of my life and will miss them when they’re over 😢
So, just to teach this girl to yell a little quieter.... or buy earplugs 😂

🎵 Baby it’s cold outside 🥶 we’ve officially entered scarf, gloves and most importantly HAT season 🧣 🧤 🎩 (obviously not this kinda hat but there ain’t an emoji for beanie hats 🤣).
When it gets like this I just wanna be in fully Christmas mode. My husband is literally having to hold me down to stop me putting decorations up 🎄🤪

My husband called me his co***ne this week and it’s so true... he’s just my little sticking plaster. I stopped feeding him last week after nearly 2.5 years and part of my reluctance to stop after so long was my fear that our special magic and intense bond would break... it hasn’t 😍 he’s still obsessed with me as I am him. And still needs my cuddles and kisses to get to sleep in place of my milk.
And he’s my catnip. I know soon it will change... arch was as obsessed with me as a baby but now he’s 50/50 who he wants to take him to bed which is fine and proper and healthy ... but for now I’m happy to be Arlo’s drug and feed his addiction with my kisses and cuddles cause I need them as much as he does.
My best buddy with the sweetest smile (and fieriest temper 😂)
