Janice and I called into see our art college friend, Kathleen yesterday at Abacus Beads in the city centre… sadly today is her last day of retail trading as the little jewel of a shop closes after 34 years in business ☹️. (Quite the achievement for such a small business!)
We both remember her starting up in the early days and wanted to wish her all the best for the future and of course buy a few sparkly beads !!! ✨✨
Good luck Kathleen hope all goes for new projects in the future.

I am delighted to be invited to show some of my gowns in the 175th Anniversary Fashion Show of the Belfast College of Art.
The theme is “Past, Present and Future”
So I thought I would dig out some of the photos my “past” gowns !!

Beautiful photo of bride Emma in her Alison-Jayne Couture wedding dress💕.. just before she leaves her house to get married ! I love the fact she has framed her original design sketches and has them on the wall to the right of the photograph 🥰
Really enjoyed creating Emma’s dress … I can’t decide if I like the black & white or the colour photograph the best ? Both capture the magical moment so beautifully.

I thoroughly enjoyed creating this wedding dress for bride Ruby! I just loved her quirky style and bohemian vibes ….. originally Ruby’s sister Lily (a recent fashion graduate) was going to create the dress, but the daunting responsibility and a job in Switzerland lead the girls to my studio !!
I was more than happy to work with them and make Ruby’s dream dress come alive ❤️
The dress was made from cream slipper satin with silk organza and tulle sleeves.. it had a b***d bodice with a deep square neckline and really rocked a strong “Bridgerton” vibe !!!! A simple cream tulle veil with a large satin bow completed the look. ❤️. Ruby and her Mum & sisters were a delight to work with. Thank you for letting me share the photos . .photography

Loving the timeless elegance of these beautiful black& white photographs of my recent bride, Amy. I really enjoyed working with Amy to create a wedding a wedding dress that perfectly suited her petit little figure. The dress was made from embroidered tulle, silk satin with an asymmetrical neckline and a long silk chiffon lace edged drape fell from her shoulder into a long dramatic train. I really enjoyed this design collaboration with my good friend Janice Gilmore, a very talented textile embroidery designer. Janice was commissioned to create a beautiful bespoke wedding veil incorporating her textile designs. With no experience of creating veils she asked me for help, guidance and studio space ! Which I was more than happy to do !! We both worked closely with the bride and her mum and spent many very enjoyable days working together in the Alison-Jayne Couture studio creating the special veil. The decoration comprised of embroidered leaves from her Mum’s wedding dress, (which Janice had made 30years ago!) silk flowers from Alison-Jayne Couture, hand embellishments, beading and lots of hand sewing hours. The bride was absolutely delighted with the final result!! 💕 It was such a delight to collaborate with Janice ! I hope we will get to work together again sometime
