Hans Herrmann. The former racing driver passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 97. During his motorsport career, he achieved more than 80 overall and class victories. In 1962, he became a factory driver for the Viennese constructor Abarth from 1963 until his return to Porsche in 1966.
A true titan of motorsport RIP.

- So:
- I have decided to sell my 1000GT Bialbero engine and my 1967 Fiat 600 1000TCR project as a package together. Not an easy decision for any Abarth collector to let go of anything! 😂
- £58k Neg. for them combined at this stage. To be clear I do not wish to separate them as I am only selling to help my current situation.
- I know they don’t belong together but this is my decision
The engine picked up a bearing years ago while fitted to my Double Bubble (see photo) The crank has now been chromated on the journals and is now ready to install.
The AH Block is affectedly New as is the 229 Head so pretty unusual.
Refurbished Weber’s on correct manifold.
Correct Bosch distributor with correct cap and leads
It ran just a standard water pump.
Correct mag Sump now painted silver excellent condition.
Cams fitted.
All covers and timing chain

Both the car and engine will be the first time ever offered to market.
1967 Fiat 600 1000 TCR copy project exact Fully modified narrow arched TCR shell copied in person from Dick Crosthwaite by my friend Miles Renton-Skinner. Currently covered in surface rust with some small details to finish off easy stuff for you chaps.
It comes with lots of original parts, full Pendolare suspension inc rear jig to make more if required. Definitely money to be made from this alone.
Original rebuilt 5 speed Abarth gearbox
Original instruments Inc Binacle. (except rev which is remake).
PPS head with Weber 40 Dcoe’s
Steel crank
FIA approved block.
Full cage not fitted also covered in surface rust.
New Reproduction Campagnola’s
Correct girling brakes front and rear.
Has the potential to be extremely nice fia race car.
Bodyshell really should be dipped to remove surface rust looks are deceiving. This has had 100hrs of hrs and thousands spent on parts etc.

1961 Fiat Abarth 850 Riviera Sypder it is very rare indeed having left the Abarth factory and is not a Cositalia one. 1 of approximately 4 that left the factory complete the other approx 30 went to Argentina in breakdown kit form then to be sold as Cisitalia’s . £38k Needs seats fitting and fuel tank also a good tune bits and a few pieces but it’s very cheap for what it is.

This was tough to find an original Abarth shield and Badge much harder than I thought it would be 😳 Nice as it’s not perfect and my car will now have all original Badges 😇

I am glad this was unsold at €370k as it deserved a much higher price. This was the pinnacle of Abarth GT cars at the time often beating the work Porsches and Alfa’s of the day. I suspect the lack of concrete race history didn’t help matters 🤔

32 years in the making finally in my hands a Factory Abarth shield that came from the official Abarth concessionaire in the UK Anthony Crook. These were handmade and I believe they were also fitted to the factory gates ?
