Very happy to announce that 181 reusable sanitary kits were hand delivered to Zambia last week. An entire school will benefit and hopefully it’s going to mean more girls stay in class. I designed this holder and removable flat insert sanitary towel - the design and ‘how to’ will be available online soon. If you’re thinking about how to support local charities here and further afield there are lots of ways you can help. How very fitting to share so soon after International Women’s Day ❤️

Felted organic merino wool - is it really going to protect? The answer is yes. Water sits in balls and can be shaken off, even under a running tap. After pressing water in to the fabric it’s dry on the reverse. It’s compostable and it works!

When my brain isn’t functioning for neat corners I am switching to sharp edges. These two-part pads have been designed in consultation with a local charity heading out to Zambia soon. They will help keep girls in school and college.
I am not a fan of fleece, however, it has it’s place here. It means the insert holder is it’s own template so the design can be replicated if worn out. The inserts can be layered inside and dried flat. Everything dries quickly. It’s also a fast and easy sew for beginners and can be easily hand sewn. I’ve tried many different variations, including PUL, but this suits the design needs best.

New backing option - organic cotton and h**p cord. I’m moving more towards h**p as it’s a better option in terms of environmental impact (needs less water and grows very fast). It’s also thermodynamic, which means it adjusts according to body temperatures to help keep you cool in the heat. Perfect for all cotton liners!
