I’m finishing the school term /work term with these springy bench cushions! 💐
Made with my go-to brushed cotton from , this fabric comes in over 380 colour ways (yes! 380!!! ) and is great for cushions such as these, curtains and blinds. Happy Easter to all my followers and customers. Keep spreading the SSL word! Don’t forget im based in Bexhill now but can still spread my expertise across the whole of the sussex area. A couple of cushion covers to match some bedroom curtains. The tactile velvet goes so nicely with the delicate floral fabric. (For my mum!)

Yes, maybe they do belong to me (I’m my own customer!) but they are beauties! Curtain in John Lewis fabric with Pinch pleat heading as they stack back neatly and look lovely from the outside! I love what I do. Lately I’ve been really challenged by jobs that felt beyond me but I’ve overcome the nerves and given it all my best effort. I can’t wait to meet my 2026 customers and start creating 🪡 🧵 ✂️

✨First post in quite a while…..✨ Sew St Leonards has been settling into her new(ish) indoor workroom and establishing herself in her new (ish ) locality!
Last week I made a pelmet. I don’t do many of these at all, but this one is a lovely addition. With pompom trim to match the curtains and inverted box pleats at each corner. Lovely!

As the children go back to school, peace reigns once again and I can get back to my groove. First up is a simple shortening and reheading of some amazing readymades with a large scale photograph printed on them! I’m watching Sewing Bee as I work…. 🪡RELAXED ROMANS🪡 No rods apart from a weighted bar one section up and the headrail. Much softer folds than a standard Roman . What do you think?? This one has a pretty shell trim along the bottom. 🐚 🐚🐚🐚🐚

I’ve joined forces with a lovely local female upholsterer 🔨 on this one. We shared a length of ‘jazzy’ Linen Union to make headboards (from ) and a Roman blind and matching rectangular cushion covers (from me ). Working with other female led small businesses is empowering for us both. ❤️

I am literally BACK IN THE ROOM! Easter hols were hectic but some fun was had…. 🐣🍫Despite the major disaster of my main sewing machine breaking 😱
But now I’m a 2 machine family with this gorgeous old workhorse gifted by the lady who made my wedding dress (special machine!) plus a brand new JUKI too. It needed to happen…. Now I need to make more curtains to pay for it!
