Pinch punch first of the month! And so summer begins 😍 It is a lot warmer in Dounby now, & the ☀️ is coming out often between the rain showers 😀

What are your plans this month? Today is a training day at my day job, then the children will be back in school again tomorrow. It will be nice to see them, after me being off last week.

I'm hoping to spend some time pottering in the garden & a trip or 3 to the beach. A paddle & some sand beneath my feet will be just what I need ☀️

A change from the usual posts this morning, but something that means a lot to me.

You may be aware that I lost my eldest son a year ago this month, but some may not know he died by su***de. He kept most of how he was feeling to himself, so we didn't know the full extent until it was too late.

Please check in regularly with your friends & loved ones. If you're struggling yourself, please ask for help. Tell someone. Help is out there. Life is better with you in it 💚

With Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 approaching (w/c May 11th), this year’s theme is Action — focusing on the small, practical steps we can all take to support mental health at work.

Pinch punch 1st of the month! And what a beautiful sunny morning we have 😍

What are your plans for this month? I'm looking forward to an extra day off this weekend with the bank holiday, & later in the month I've got friends visiting from Norway. (Did you know I can speak Norwegian?!)

It is also the first anniversary of my son's passing, so I will be taking some time off from the 23rd.

Thank you all for your likes, comments & the sewing you have sent my way, as well as your patience during busy times.

A commission of a blanket for a special little boy. His dad works on the OceanX, so the boat was replicated in applique, along with coordinated colours in the child's name & hand stitched around the blanket's edge.

Pinch punch 1st of the month. Happy April everyone!

We are finally into the countdown for the Easter holidays 🥳 It has been a long term & I've been overdoing things. It's now a new month & reset time. Self care is very important, if you're not feeling well, you can't look after or help anyone else! So this month is all about resting when I can, going for more walks & trying to ease my sore shoulder.

What do you do to reset? Have you any plans for this month? I hope you have a Happy Easter & the bunny brings you some chocolate 😋🐰🐣

A change from zips tonight, I'm shortening some jeans instead 😀
