One of the most common conversations we have with dance school owners goes something like this.
They’ve got twelve numbers, six age groups, a venue booked, and a budget that feels like it needs to stretch a lot further than it actually can.
And the instinct is to spread it evenly. Give every class the same amount and make it fair.
But fair doesn’t always mean effective.
The shows that look cohesive and considered on stage, the ones where everything feels like it belongs together, they got there because someone made deliberate decisions about where the money went.
Your showstopper numbers need to earn their budget. The routines that open the show, close the show, or sit at the emotional heart of it, those are the moments your audience will remember, photograph, and talk about.
Invest there.
Your ensemble numbers, your transitional pieces, your youngest classes doing their first ever performance, beautiful doesn’t have to mean expensive. The right colour, the right fabric, the right silhouette does the work without the price tag.
Every show has a story. Your costumes should tell it, from the first number to the last.
That’s what we help you figure out. 🩰
If you’re starting to plan your next show and the budget conversation feels overwhelming, drop us a message.
We’re good at this bit 🖤
