Corduroy has weight to it, and weight is what keeps a jacket hanging properly instead of creasing across the back by lunchtime.

Most suit problems are shoulder problems. That seam is the one a tailor cannot easily move, so it is the first thing we look at when you try a jacket on. Sleeves come up, waists come in, and a trouser hem is a twenty minute job.

Everything is out on the shop floor rather than in a stockroom, so you can put the jacket, waistcoat and trousers on together and see the colour in daylight.
