Join Hannah at Stitching Kitchen for this special two-part workshop and learn how to transform beautiful wool fibres into a handmade wet felt lampshade.

Over two sessions you'll discover the art of wet felting, working with merino wool, silk, linen and other natural fibres to create your own felt fabric before turning it into a professional drum lampshade.

It's scorching - it will be all week, if you are finding your crafting is suffering come to Stitching Kitchen this Saturday where we will be in air conditioned bliss!

It is a Saturday sewcial - no tutor just a whole day 10am to 3pm of space to spread out, the option to borrow our demo sewing machines and use the huge cutting mats! Just like minded crafters and sewists and tea / coffee on tap!

We love nothing more than a brand new sewing student! We make sure to always have a few classes suitable for total novices, so if you're feeling like you really ought to learn to sew, come on down.

Get To Know Your Sewing Machine is a great starting point for pretty much anybody. We tend to get a mix of people who have never touched a machine before, and people who are self taught and don't understand why the damn thing keeps misbehaving.

Learn to love Your Overlocker will demystify overlockers (which we totally understand can be a bit intimidating) and get you off to a flying start with overlocking and serging.

Sew Your Own Knickers is a brilliant first project. It's fairly quick, so you'll have something to show for it, it's a small project, so you don't need much fabric and you can even use up scraps, and it's the kind of garment that if the stitching is a bit wonky it doesn't really matter. You can get away with making a few mistakes here!

This week I have been mostly working on a website upgrade.... We now have a much easier interface and you can use the search bar to find the workshop or course you would like to attend.

The dates are far clearer and the option to buy a kit or other add ons are now part of the checkout process.

There is even a calendar to browse too! The booking for machine test drives and private sewing (Hannah) and Knit/Crochet sessions (Emma) are also much easier to navigate and all work through the same secure stripe checkout!
