Visible Repair 🪡

These camo trousers came in with a substantial tear next to the back pocket. An invisible repair wasn’t really possible, so instead I chose to make a feature of it.

I stabilised the fabric from behind, removed the pocket where needed and used different shades of thread to work with the camouflage print before putting everything back together.

A strong, wearable repair that keeps the character of the original garment.

Holiday mode is over! ☀️

I’m back in the studio today and open from 9am–6pm.

🪡 Just a little heads-up that Notch by Elkie will be closed until the 7th of August.

I’m escaping the sewing machine for two weeks to take my two little chaos makers on holiday. ☀️

I’ll be back on Friday the 7th August, open 9am–6pm, with walk-ins very welcome (no appointment needed).

I’m going to be taking a proper break, so I’ll be catching up on all messages, emails and enquiries when I’m back. Thank you so much for your patience— I promise I’ll get back to everyone as soon as I can.

Hi everyone,

Late post, but just a quick message to let all my Thornton customers know that I’ll be CLOSED this week.

Im working in London doing alterations for Ant & Dec on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! so I’ll be away from the shop for a few days.

I’ll be back to normal business next week and will respond to any messages as soon as I can. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Hi everyone!
Just a quick update, I’m open today until 6pm, so if you’ve got anything that needs altering, repairing, or adjusting, pop in and see me.

I’ll be closed for the rest of the week as I’ll be working in London, so today is the perfect time to bring anything in before I head off.

Unfortunately I will be closed today.
My little boy has been struck down by the sickness bug, and as much as I’d love to drop him off at my mums, he’s requesting to stay at home 🤧
