Mae Kandoo

Mae Kandoo Original designs. Handmade using authentic vintage and other up-cycled fabrics. Bringing craft to homes and workplaces through a range of creative workshops.

Designer-maker Vikki Walsh launched Mae Kandoo in July 2012. Inspired by vintage designs & her passion for vintage textiles and haberdashery, Vikki draws upon a wealth of skills to 'make & do'. Mae Kandoo's products include bags, homewares, seasonal gifts & sew your own kits. Our products encompass key trends which are influencing the evolution of the craft market in the UK: original designs which

are handmade, authentic vintage and eco-friendly. Mae Kandoo's creative workshop service is set to thrive as the trend for participating in craft continues to grow. As well as developing an appreciation for handmade products, Mae Kandoo's workshops integrate practical skills which give consumers a sense of control, achievement and resourcefulness. With the option to choose from a core range of workshops (which is constantly growing!) or to request a workshop tailored to meet your needs, there's plenty to choose from. We see craft as a lifestyle choice. Our 'sew your own' kits mean that you can enjoy getting crafty in the comfort of your own home.

This week is featured in Stallholder Spotlight. If you haven't heard of ...think of it as the go to place to find out what, where and when markets are taking place across the UK! More than that...there is also a directory of stallholders! Why is this helpful?
Imagine you go to a market, see an 'ideal' gift for someone and decide you will go back another time to buy it. By the time you get home, you get busy and you can not remember the details of the stall. You find the market you attended on pedddle, click on the photo and choose the type of stall you are looking for (eg textiles) . That category has a list of all the relevant stallholders....and you find the stallholder!! They have a page which highlights their products...and links you to their website /selling platforms.
If you want to, you can find out what market they will be at next ...
As a stallholder you can find out about markets to join, make use of an amazing set of resources that have been put together by someone who knows the demands of setting up at Markets! All geared towards making your small (micro - just you!) business more VISIBLE.
Many stallholders work alone; pedddle has an ever increasing community that share tips, news about which markets to try, troubleshoot...all sorts - live creative sessions...

Thanks to Nicky and the team for joining the dots between stallholders, customers and markets!

Thanks to all who came along to the Repair and Reuse workshop to learn Sashiko stitching today. A lovely group of people to work with. Thanks too to for hosting the first of three Repair and Reuse workshops.
Hearing people's ideas about clothes they want to repair was a perfect end to the session. It genuinely felt like a beginning...
Enjoy stitching, take your time and celebrate every repair 😍 Thank you all for your time, focus and energy.
