Wow, 16 years ago today I made it official and commited to making my little fashion design, dressmaking and alterations brand.
This year I've not been present on social media much as I've been studying for my Masters in Sustainable Fashion.
It has been just what I needed, if a little bit intense at times, with a lot of heavy content covered, but I have found my tribe, and it feels good to take steps towards being part of a movement for positive change.
Honestly I have found it really difficult to navigate business as an independent designer over the years.
Having a set of beliefs that limit my ability to make large profits, sometimes makes me feel like a failure and I'm not performing well.
But I have genuinely enjoyed every project that I have worked on, creating hundreds of bespoke garments for people, and keeping their well worn and loved garments in rotation for a few more years, and I know there is a huge amount of value there.
Massive gratitude to everyone who's supported me and shown an interest.
