The website is currently a hot bed of deliciously reduced things. We’re generally anti-discount culture BUT we’ve gone from a shop to studio to online only and I desperately need to rid us of stock! Clear my flat of boxes! Marie Kondo the past out of our lives and start afresh! ⁣

Some BEAUTS new bits have just gone up on - we’ve absolutely loved unpacking your pre-loved garments to find new homes and have been bowled over by the vibrancy and cheer emerging from little parcels our lovely posties been dropping off! ✨💕⁣

Vintage Get Cutie was born after a few months of lockdown. We were overwhelmed at the amount of customers getting involved asking advice for re-selling Get Cutie garments as they were in perfect condition but not fitting ever-changing bodies anymore! The platform was launched and it’s been a roaring success ever since, we love hearing the stories about adventures dresses have had and then re-homing for more love! We pay for each return in credit, so you can exchange your old for new! Get Cutie is build to LAST 💕✨💕✨💕

Our little family business of Get Cutie started when I (Izzy) was about 3 years old, born out of necessity and evolving as my Mum (Fi) needed a job that she could take me with her to. She started by renting a rail in 33 Kensington Gardens to re-sell vintage clothes and my early childhood revolved around visiting car boots, jumble sales and trips to amazing warehouses in the middle of nowhere to help hand select gems hidden in humungous piles of pre-loved clothes. The rail quickly turned in to the whole basement, which then spurred Mum on to start designing her own prints and slogans to adorn jersey hot pants, sweat shirts and tees. The whole operation turned in to a bit of a roaring success and soon the whole shop turned in to Get Cutie - Mum's love of textiles and prints taking over and the introduction of printed cotton turned in to the brand that started to resemble what we all know and love it to be now.

I loved spending time in the shop, and my first job would be to dust the shelves and sweep the floors with payment of penny sweets from Caramella down the road (very fair terms, I felt at the time). As soon as I could I'd start doing Saturday and after school shifts and absolutely loved the buzz of Kensington Gardens, it was a VIBE. At some point during my teenage years we turned downstairs in to THE BARGAIN BASEMENT and I'd love hearing excited squeals of customers finding something great and unexpected. So there is the backstory of why I've just created a VIRTUAL BARGAIN BASEMENT

We'll send everything out as soon as it's sold in the hope to get it to you for Christmas... I hope you find some gems!

Black isn’t a colour we associate with very much, unless it’s adorned with pouty red lips, swashbuckling heroes, flamboyantly dressed sailors or pin up girls. We’ve previously boycotted the day entirely, BUT this year the wonderful has launched - which is an initiative we can TOTALLY get behind. ⁣

Colour Friday is a rejection of it’s duller, commercial counterpart and is all about supporting small businesses. It’s been a tough old time for us all and it’s a day (of many days, of ALL days) where we can collectively come together and shout from the rooftops that we need YOU for support, community, photo sharing, reviews… however small a purchase we jump for joy whenever our phone pings with a sale and we need to collectively bring the faceless multi-squillion pound organisations down a peg or two. ⁣

I wrote this information in a newsletter yesterday and it felt off writing it with the time pressure of BUY NOW OR MISS OUT vibe, I realised as I was writing that literally the last thing *anyone* needs is to be shouted at to buy things at the moment… if there’s a fabric that you love and are worried we’re going to stop doing it in a made to order garment that you can’t afford right now, do get in touch and I’m sure we can work out instalment payments or a solution that can make you happy. Also, DO remember that we make everything ourselves so if you want change to any garment we’re always a bit obsessed with making it work! Extra length? Extra pockets? Frills? Fringing? No probs! We want it to be perfect for you. ⁣
