We’ve managed to distribute our lovely stock to various causes including The Lullaby Trust, Pelican Parcels and Emmaus Brighton.

Thank you to our social media manager Jenna for all the amazing, detailed work you've done to make this happen and to operations manager Tally for including our clothes in your Preloved for a Purpose sale. I think between us we did the legacy of SuperLooper proud 🤩.

I’ll never forget all the pro-bono help and support I received over the years, especially from Ashwin Susarla, Olivier de Marneffe, Melissa Goldberg (both from the wonderful Radical Engineers), mentors Kirsty Collins, Jo Godden, Lorraine Pendlington, Gaynor Williams, Sharon James Alderton, Sue Pickering, Emma Mills-Sheffield, Elena Ferrara, Anna, Paul and so many at 💕.

Last but not least a mention for all the incredible input from Kate who is now flying high with her fab band . Thank you for your endless patience and enthusiasm for what we tried so hard to achieve.

Between us all we’ve helped make second-hand baby clothing a no-brainer for all. THANK YOU 🌺.

The Lullaby Trust raises awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), provides expert advice on safer sleep for babies and offers emotional support for bereaved families. Today’s highlight is Bags of Support.

They are a Green Award Winning organisation based in West Sussex, that ethically recycles textiles, by donating clothes to communities in Uganda and then recycling the remaining textiles in the most environmentally appropriate way possible. Guaranteed nothing is put into landfill.

We recently announced that we’ve sadly taken the decision to close down. This week, we’re going to be telling you how we’re doing this and what causes we’re going to be helping in the process ❤️

First up, Pelican Parcels

They take pre-loved and new item donations for babies and children up to age 12, and redistribute them to families facing financial hardship via various existing family services in Brighton & Hove in Sussex.

They are currently looking for good condition cold weather items, such as coats and blankets. Can you help?

Thank you all for your kind messages, unexpected and beautiful

A few people have asked ‘What next?’ … Right now I’m thinking of doubling down on volunteering with the homeless (there are over 70,000 here in LA from where I remotely work on SuperLooper), but also maybe I’ll go back into upcycling as I did back in the 80’s! Anyways, early days but I’ll be busy doing something for sure 😉

I have some news...

Back in 2020 dressing babies in secondhand clothing wasn’t popular & millions of barely worn clothes went to waste. So, as a mum in her mid-50s with 3 grown kids, I gave birth to my new baby ... SuperLooper!

With help from incredible friends, family, marketing wizzes, tech experts, talented creatives, pioneering brands & co-workers, SuperLooper became the first, award winning, circular-economy-inspired platform for parents to share & rent their preloved baby clothing.

Now, in 2024, resale platforms make secondhand shopping a no-brainer. Parents appreciate that well-made clothes produced in quality fabrics last longer & retain their value & that reselling them means they're affordable to more people, so the ‘need’ for cheap, fast fashion is reduced. Better for the planet, but maybe not for our SuperLooper model.

So, I’ve decided to shut up shop. BUT I’m SUPER excited that as our last hurrah, we’re passing-on all the beautiful clothing handed down by generous families to good causes & charities. Stay tuned to our socials for details about who’ll benefit & how you can get involved.

Starting a business from scratch was tough, especially with my ridiculous imposter syndrome & no financial backing! I leaned on my passion, sense of humour & belief in the idea's impact. I'm so proud of what SuperLooper has achieved - joyful customers, the Return & Earn scheme & the ripple effect all this has had. I’ve had a blast. I wouldn’t swap the experience for anything & will always encourage anyone with an idea that makes them want to leap in the air to go for it! I’ve learned so much & my imposter syndrome has all but disappeared, kinda ;)

Thank you EVERYONE who has shared, rented, modeled, contributed, advised or shouted-out about us, especially to my husband Dec.

PLEASE remember, that to truly help slow fashion down, we need to buy less, reuse more & importantly, to recognise that resale is only environmentally useful if we do it with circularity. So, as well as selling, we need to buy or rent preloved over new, whenever we can.
