Unapologaytic

Unapologaytic Embrace who you are! Graphic and Slogan T-Shirts for Proud Gay Men. Sustainable and Designed in Brighton . What do you hear in the expression ‘act straight’?

I don't know about you but what I hear is a gay guy who won't be seen as gay... because being seen as camp, feminine or whatever else is not great or even shameful... right??? So masculine, camp, feminine and all the shades in between, there's no right or wrong, good or bad or even 'a simple preference', like some of us say...

As a brand, Act Straight not only mocks the very idea behind the expr

ession but also calls each of us to drop the act and embrace whoever we are. If you've already dropped the act, all the better. Welcome home darling! One more thing. It's important to be grateful to be able to express ourselves so freely when this venture would definitely be forbidden in certain countries and so many people are harrassed and tortured for their sexual orientation. Now this is settled, a little word about us. Act Straight is a startup based in Brighton, the UK's gay headquarters. We use the latest technology and organic cotton for our t-shirts to only print your garment when you place an order. This minimises wastage and allows us to offer you a wider range of products from t-shirts to mugs, cushions and even phone cases. Please feel free to leave us some feedback and comments. We’d love to hear from you. All the best
xx

Basil Arthur Scott Clavering (1910-1973) is recognised as the most important post-war British physique photographer. He was specialised in male uniforms and military discipline.

No other photographer of the time extracted so much visual drama from the dressed male figure. Other physical photographers viewed the legal restrictions of the time as a challenge, while Clavering embraced them as an opportunity to produce beautiful daring images.

Many models were also active military, whom Clavering met in public houses near Hyde Park and the Chelsea barracks. Therefore, the images are not simply men dressed in uniforms, but rather men fully aware of both the purpose and the symbolism of the uniform.

For Stanley Stellar .stanley, the only thing that matters is the beauty of man, not in the conventional sense, where others photograph well-made professional models. What interests Stellar is the man on the street, whom he had the audacity to approach. His images are icons of the ho******ic imagery of the 70s and 80s.

Some of us inherited shame and trauma.
Some of us inherited impeccable taste.
Many of us got both.

I started Unapologaytic to turn shame into something playful, wearable, and unapologetically ours. Every design is a tribute to q***r culture, gay wit, and the people who made it possible for us to live a little more freely today.

No fast fashion. No trend-chasing. Just timeless references, cheeky humour, underwear and T-shirts made for gay men who know exactly who they are… or are getting deliciously close.

Which design speaks your language? 👀🏳️‍🌈

Kendric Tonn’s paintings explore masculinity through intimacy and vulnerability.

His work often places men (as well as women) in quiet, reflective moments: resting, touching, lost in thought, with a softness that feels real and honest rather than idealised. There’s sensuality there, but also emotional weight.

There’s a version of masculinity that’s all about performance: hard edges, no feelings, never needs anything.
And then there’s the version I’m interested in: the one that lifts heavy and speaks gently.
The one that does the work in the gym and the work in the mind.
The one that’s interested in growth without being cruel to itself.

Hugh Steers’ paintings became some of the most moving visual responses to the AIDS epidemic.

In the 1980s and early ’90s, he painted scenes of illness, caregiving, grief and isolation at a time when much of the world either preferred not to look or thought it was ‘God’s punishment’. His figures often feel fragile but also deeply human: men holding each other, waiting, mourning, surviving.

Steers died from AIDS-related complications in 1995. His paintings remain a powerful record of a generation forced to love and fight through horrific loss.
