Playing shop these past 3.5 years has been a dream! But it is time to close the doors of franks.
We will continue restocking and remain open until the end of May. I’m not one for long goodbyes, but thought I’d give everyone a good heads up!
There has been a big shift in people buying and selling vintage these past few years (which is great). However sourcing competition is much fiercer now and the price of everything has risen massively. Unfortunately the market no longer aligns with franks.
Running a vintage shop has been so much fun. The thrill of hunting for treasure and the joy when a customer finds a piece they love! However, it is also very stressful.. Not knowing when, where or what stock will turn up has made it hard to have a steady routine or financial organisation.
Thanks so much to all the people who’ve passed through and supported the shop. Especially the regulars whose weekly purchases have paid the rent!
On a personal note, I’ve had a hard road in life and you guys have been so supportive and kind and it has meant a lot not only for the business, but personally. When times have been tough these past years, having a nice chat or message has meant a lot.
This isn’t the end of franks, I’ve been collecting and selling since I was a teen and will continue to do so, but without the pressures and overheads of a shop space.
You may see me pop up online, at markets, or somewhere else! I’m not quite sure yet but I really hope you’ll continue to follow the franks journey.
There are lots of unspent vouchers out there so please do get in touch if you have one!
I will be sad to leave the shop, and to not see your lovely faces each weekend. But I am excited to have the space to work on what’s next and have the time to source items I really love (and hopefully you will too) again.
Bye for now,
Jay & Rhys ###
