We had loads of fun making Laurence's wedding outfit. He made a gorgeous linen waistcoat, trousers and shirt, and we loved the colour combos he went for 🎨
Just to top it all off, his sister (best friend, best woman!) Got us to make a matching bustier, shirt and hair bow 🎀

We had the absolute pleasure last summer to create Emily's beautiful wedding dress 🪡
She really had the most infectious laugh, and it's such a joy to see a snap shot of how joyful and sunny this day was 😍
We used a heavy silk satin from to create a lovely softly b***d dress, with a bit of drape on the hips 💖

We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to cover maternity leave for one year, starting in September/October at our vibrant Old Market Store. As our small business continues to grow, there is potential for this role to evolve into a permanent position.

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled seamstress or tailor with a passion for precision and a
creative touch. You’ll be working on a variety of bridal and evening wear alterations, ensuring each client’s garment fits perfectly and meets their unique needs. You’ll be comfortable conducting fittings, offering expert advice, and working closely with our clients to find the best solutions for fit and style.

While our busiest period is from April to August, when bridal and evening wear alterations are in full swing, the quieter months will provide opportunities to work on a diverse range of garments, from party outfits to cherished winter clothing repairs.

We also offer a range of
make-do-and-mend services, as well as customization and upcycling for those who enjoy a creative challenge.

Key Responsibilities:
✂️ Perform high-quality alterations on bridal and evening wear, ensuring a flawless fit for
every client.
✂️Carry out fittings, providing expert guidance on alterations and solutions for fit.
✂️Work on a variety of garments during quieter months, including party outfits, repairs, and
seasonal clothing.
✂️Utilize industrial machinery confidently and efficiently, maintaining high standards of
workmanship.
✂️Collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Ideal Candidate:
✂️Skilled in garment alterations, with experience in bridal or evening wear (preferred but
not required).
✂️ Comfortable working with industrial machinery and managing the speed of the machines.
✂️ Creative, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.

We altered this amazing dress by adding panelling in to sides. We used a matching stretch fabric, ruched the panels to imitate the original seam and stitched them in to the dress. We did multiple fittings with the custom to get the perfect fit.
