I have a few pairs of jeans (a friend's donation) that are just beyond distressed-ripped, kinda falling apart.., I don't even know how to call it.. 😄

They have a definite vintage, rather grunge look, and I am still finding ways of incorporating them into my bags...

Last week I decided to pick a pair of shorts of them, give them a heavy brushing&washing, and see what I can sew from them...

No surprise, the end result is the most grunge bag I've ever made - so far... 🤘😉

This is the second little bag of the trio I mentioned the other day. I've sized all of them using the golden ratio, and the front patchwork is inspired by the Fibonacci sequence .. can you see it? 🙃

I have some fabric(scraps) that I found a while ago (in a scrap store, or just a curtain we don't use anymore, some upholstery samples, etc...), but couldn't really incorporate into any of the projects I've been working on.

The same happened to this blue upholstery fabric too, I just kept pulling it out, then putting it aside saying it's too thick, too bright, too blue, whatever.. 🥱

This week I have finally found it's place. I instinctively wanted to tone it down a bit somehow (it is full on royal blue) so I knew I will do some sewing over it. I also wanted to finally showcase some 8mm long machine stitches, and the two together got me to the starting point of creating a mini collection of three little bags... This one is one of them.

The last one of the trio - this is the third little cross body bag I made recently from green canvas.

It has a -different, pretty thick- webbing strip on the front for decoration, but it also has a minimalist overall vibe.

..there was a pair of jeans, that had so many permanent stains on the outside, that I had to use its inside for this bag.

Then I had this almost grey is, plain 'fabric' to work with, so I decided to add patterns to it...

I used foam stabilizer for giving texture to the bits too, and after carefully sewing the patches together, this beautiful tote bag came out...

This process includes quite a lot of cutting, as well as very accurate sewing at some pretty bulky joints, but it definitely gave me a lot of ideas for more future experiments.... ☀️☺️

Here is the second piece of the little green canvas *little cross body* bag collection I have available in my shop.

For the front decoration I added a piece of cotton webbing in matching khaki colour, but I would still call it a rather minimalist overall style.

Here is one of the little canvas bags I mentioned the other day.

It's an unusual fabric in my shop, but I found a piece of it on the bottom of a big pile of fabric scraps in a scrapstore - so I thought I'll give it a go.

As I don't normally work with canvas, I wanted to make something simple - otherwise I tend to overthink it... 🙃

It turned out very pretty though - its beauty is in its simplicity, I think.
