One minute I was kayaking with my family… the next, I was in hospital with 4cm of fluid around my heart.⁠

Weeks as an inpatient. Months of recovery. A missed festival season. A mystery autoimmune disease that now demands I rest—deeply, often, and without apology.⁠

I’ve had to slow down. Relearn my rhythm. Say no to things I used to run toward. And in that stillness, something unexpected has bloomed.⁠

Sometimes, when you really stop and look at how something is made, it takes your breath away.

Block printing is one of those things. Each design carved by hand. Each block pressed, one by one, with care and rhythm. It’s quiet, imperfect, deeply human, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.

For the past 20 years, I’ve been travelling to India - over and over again, drawn back by the people, the colour, the rhythm, the craft.

I’ve spent years working with incredible tailors and makers - true artisans who pour generations of knowledge and soul into every stitch. One technique I return to again and again is hand block printing.

Each design is carved -by hand - into wooden blocks. One block for each layer of pattern, each colour. Then, with patience and precision, it’s stamped onto fabric by hand. Over and over. It’s slow, imperfect, human… and completely mesmerising.

In a world that rushes everything, this way of making feels like a quiet rebellion. A reminder that beauty takes time. That detail matters. That hands—real hands - can create something breathtaking.

You don’t need to know the process to feel it. You can sense it in the fabric. In the weight, the story, the care. And that’s what I want for you: pieces that hold something deeper. That feel good on your skin, and good in your soul.
