Happy World Book Day 📚

We love curating our book corner in our little store by the sea. From little rebels to budding artists, big thinkers to bookworms, there’s a story for every child.

Today, on World Book Day, we celebrate the books that inspire, empower, and spark imagination ~ the ones we read together, share with family and friends, or lose ourselves in alone. Every day is a chance to encourage a love for reading, curiosity, and exploring new worlds through imagination.

Mother’s (and Others’) Day in the UK is on Sunday 15 March, so we’ve rounded up some of our favourite pampering products and relaxing activities to create a range of easy gifts that we’re sure the mum, co-parent, grandma or auntie in your life will love.

The bundles bring together indulgent elements that will last longer than a bouquet of flowers, and will encourage them to rest, relax and practice self-care. With regular and deluxe options for each, there’s a small saving compared to buying the items individually. And of course you can rely on us to package everything beautifully whether you’re ordering online or popping in to store.

We’ve included mums-to-be in our gifting, because we believe that mothering starts way before birth, while we’ve not forgotten about the grandmas either. Whether they share wisdom, help with childcare or are just a loving presence, as mums we would be lost without our own, a sentiment we know is echoed by so many of you.

On a personal note, as mothers of young kids ourselves, we always find Mother’s Day a funny old day - where expectation and reality don’t necessarily align. But we want you to know that however the day goes for you, we see you, we cherish you and you’re doing great 🧡

What a treat to host for a beautiful reading of her latest book, Bear’s Perfect Dance 🐻✨

This heartwarming story, reminds us that perfection isn’t the goal ~ connection and friendships are! We made bear ears, danced our own ‘perfect’ dances and filled the shop with pure magic ✨

Thank you everyone who joined us for this special event and thank you Rachel, for bringing such joy to our little store by the sea.

Non-stop rain, ill kids, your own physical or mental health - whatever the reason, we’ve found that a day of doing nothing sounds great in theory, but in reality it usually means the kids climbing the walls and us getting sucked into chores or work instead. Cue everybody feeling irritable and somehow even more exhausted by mid afternoon?!

But a really loose and gentle structure to the day and letting your kids know what and when to expect certain things - especially snacks or lunch - can really help. But a day with no school, clubs, childcare or errands can feel like a long stretch to fill.

So with February half term here and the weather forecast looking distinctly damp, we’ve shared some of our favourite easy, screen-free at home activity inspiration over on our blog.
