After painting Teddy on Day 2, Lucy kept asking me where her painting was.

The joy she had when she saw this made it so worth it. She sat watching me paint it after her little swim and has been telling everyone about her little portrait!

Somehow these little paintings have become like a story book for the both of them and I think I’ve now been made to read my letters to them about 10 times.

Best project I have ever set for myself I think! 🥰
Presenting Day 5 ✋🫶✈️

- Day 4

This painting felt like a no-brainer after I left our food on a table for two seconds and a seagull swooped in seizing his chance to steal our lunch.

It was definitely one of those moments on a holiday that feels slightly annoying but also hilarious. My poor 2 year old took it in good humour and enjoyed telling every passer by that a seagull took his chippies 😅

This life drawing was actually me dipping my toes in the sandy waves (but I’m not at the beach anymore, so pool pic it is 😅)

You can also see that I have been doing my little letters to the kids on the backs of the postcards. Whilst I’m sharing day 3 with you, I’ve just drawn out day 5’s postcard… I’m enjoying my holiday and that’s meant also taking a step away from my phone.

This entry: Day 3

Stay posted for Day 4 next (hint: 🪶🍟)

Day 2 🐢

I’ve realised this challenge hasn’t just become about painting. It’s about stopping and noticing the joy in the little things, the little moments.

Today’s moment: a blue pool, a little boy and a little girl living their best life floating along in an inflatable turtle.

A sunset from 30,000 feet & painted at 30,000 feet! ✈️ ☀️

A little backstory - bare with me 😅

Every holiday I write my kids a letter a day to sum up the holiday and the memories. I love reading them back, but half of them still live on my phone as it’s hard to find the time to get them out onto paper.

Then, a few weeks ago I was picking up a few supplies in Hobbycraft for an art commission when I saw this little book and it got me thinking…

When I was at university I used to take a sketchbook with me everywhere… I love life drawing and capturing moments quickly, no overthinking, just pure observation and bringing it to life on a page... What if I could somehow combine these two things to make something really special?

So this holiday I’ve challenged myself to paint one postcard a day while I’m away. A holiday moment captured in a life drawing rather than picture - drawn and painted quickly in the moment… And write out my letters to my kids on the postcards rather than my phone.

Not gonna lie, I’m going to L.O.V.E the chance to paint and write these, but finding the time with two children is going to be interesting! Let’s see how I do! 💪

This is entry: Day 1

I’m sure I can’t be the only one… anyone else obsessed with pretty stationery and packaging? 🤍

Finished a gorgeous venue painting on 100% cotton paper recently (new obsession unlocked), and I’ve got that little post-painting buzz where all I want to do is share it immediately.

But as this one is an anniversary surprise, I’m keeping the artwork hidden until the lovely bride has gifted it and given me permission to share.

So for now… here’s a little peek at the details instead.

One of my favourite things about creating under Wisp & Wonder is leaning into all the little whimsical touches. The ribbons, vellum, textures and finishing details that turn a beautiful painting into an experience.

And a little personal detail I love… the ribbon wrapped around this package is actually an offcut from my own wedding dress

Painting reveal coming soon, so stay tuned

Just me popping in from between life, kids and paintbrushes during this heatwave!

Behind every live wedding illustration setup is usually coffee, a long to-do list, and a lot of excitement for creating something meaningful.

Been a little quiet on here, but lots of painting going on in the background and preparations for upcoming weddings 🥰

Also a new gift idea unlocked for 2nd wedding anniversary’s! Can’t wait to share it with you.
