Yes the closing sign has gone up, and yes we tried last year to discount to clear for those who noticed.
We’re looking to close the retail side, we’ve not ordered any further stock, but until our existing stock is cleared we cannot close, hence the second coming of our attempt to sell everything off at cost price.
Summer is usually busy for us so we didn’t see the need to discount. Sadly the summer for retail as a whole has been dire, bigger players are closing so what does that mean for the smaller businesses?
We are supporting and contributing fully to the Carnival and their efforts, and look forward, as other businesses do to the other great events that take time and effort to organise each year in the town.
The world is a greater place if people are kind, and as Halloween can sometimes be difficult for the vulnerable, we wanted to bring families onto the high street rather than going door to door, so that children can still enjoy the trick or treat experience.
I’ve set up a WhatsApp group to help local businesses communicate more easily, but it’s the community that really brings the town together.
We’ve met some great people and had loads of fun in the process, we are looking to change the retail unit into a nail and beauty salon, groans I know from many, but the rise of the cafe, coffee shop, hairdresser, barber, nail and beauty salon, and takeaway will continue to flourish as more and more of us shop online.
Your shopping habits define the demographic of your local high street, and were grateful for the love and support we have had with our current and new adventure ###
