✨New Owner✨

I am beyond pleased to announce that my wonderful workshops are being lovingly taken over by the super talented Bella

Not only is Bella another keen b**b enthusiast who supports breastfeeding parents but she is also the most exquisite artist specialising in the female form.

She will be taking the reins of my build a b**b pot/positive pottery workshops and turning them into something unique to her but I’m sure still keeping the essence and security that the workshops have developed and built on.

She’s going to be taking some time to get to grips with everything so I urge you to give her a follow to keep up to date with all things pottery.

TW Mental Health.

So I had a breakdown! My body failed me, my brain shut up shop. Everything went kaput and I stopped functioning. My anxiety levels were through the roof and I couldn’t cope, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t look after my children, I couldn’t even get off the sofa.

I was having so many panic attacks everyday, I had to have someone with me 24/7 and I felt like I’d lost any semblance of who I was. And it all started with Covid 🤦🏻‍♀️ it made me so unwell which then triggered some breastfeeding issues that spiralled after some poor management on my part. And when something that is your core identity doesn’t go to plan and you have to change course it knocks you sideways.

Anyway long story short I am now a long way into recovery. I can see that this breakdown was a long time coming due to my reluctance to deal with so many major life events happening over the last few years. And as we all know, when you don’t listen to your body and mind and take a break they MAKE you take a break. I am having regular counselling sessions which has been life changing and I’m happily on antidepressants (no shame here) this along with prioritising mindfulness and making sure I check in with myself, I can really see a light at the end of the tunnel.

So what does this mean for BooBeeCo? This means that I am shutting up shop and focusing on the things that cannot be ignored. We have been going through the assessment process for another one of our children and have now received a ADHD diagnosis and very soon her Autism diagnosis. Which now takes our total up to 3 neurodiverse children with significant support needs. Those who are in this world understand just how much fighting we need to do to get our children the support they need so I will be putting all my energy into gaining EHCP’s, DLA, PIP, blue badge etc my babies who need it and guiding them through this process as well. I will always be their fiercest champion and right now that comes before work.

Hellooooo to all my new followers all here because of this super amazingly gorgeous human who has just shared this pot I made for her when we went to see her at Cambridge Corn Exchange.

The beautiful soul that created this splat passed today and will be sorely missed!

was always at the end of a voice note ready to champion all around her. From reading all the beautiful comments left on others posts I can’t help but feel angry that this horrific disease is robbing this earth of the most amazing people.

Heather you were a marvel and I will miss your endless compliments and support for both the art project but also of me as a mother.

Art is such an individual thing don’t you think.

I’ve watched the reel going round of an older gentleman piling up a load of red buckets full of sand and then watching them topple over to a raucous round of applause and his bow of accomplishment.

I’m in awe and disbelief at this piece of ‘art’. Awe because people are celebrating him for his confidence and genius when it comes to doing something my children do on a daily basis, disbelief for exactly the same reason.

To him this installation means something profound and to those around him they are taking their own meaning from it and are truly revelling in its uniqueness.

Skip to me in my workshop painting these beautiful goddesses ready to embellish with gold and silver leaf, hoping and praying that someone at next weekends makers market might buy one or at least compliment the beauty in their imperfection.

See, to me they are the epitome of art. They represent so much for me. The beauty of taking time to celebrate the art of creating, the prioritising of my mental wellbeing, the deliciousness of their curves and cracks, the fullness of their bodies and the statement that they don’t need to be a functional piece of pottery they can just be!

I have huge imposter syndrome when it comes to my pottery. I constantly think that anyone could do what I do but I have to remind myself that that’s not the point. These pieces are much more than just lumps of clay. They are art, my art! My creations, my peace and joy. And if someone falls in love with one of them and wants to offer them a home then I hope they can embody whatever they need at that time.

So maybe I need to take some of the confidence shown by the man with the red buckets and be proud of my goddesses because they are unique pieces of Art!

What a great night we had on Saturday!!

In this Posi-Pots workshop (another nickname 😆) we made goddess vases and spoke about the importance of breast health, there was definitely an innuendo or two and we all had a laugh about how the goddess vase always starts off as a group of balls 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m changing things up regarding my Posi-Pots workshops. Proper info to follow but I’m working on making them more affordable and having set makes at set workshops so keep an eye out for that.

Well I spent way too long recording and editing a video of an update and then hated it so much that I deleted it 🤣

So instead here’s a unfiltered picture of me with my 39 year old face (and infected nose piercing) wearing the jumper to end all jumpers made by my very talented sister in law (maker of the b**b bunting)

I’m telling you that if you’re wading through the quagmire of back to school sort out, keep your chin up you’re nearly there. If your babies are not looking forward to transitioning back into school life then I feel for you, this bit of the holidays is bittersweet.

May the universe grant you infinite patience for the meltdowns, strong arms for the cuddles, chocolate for the sanity and tissues for the leaky eyes.

Things are very quiet on my page I know, I’ve not been very present with these squares but it’s given me some lovely breathing space to reassess everything.
