We were very pleased to be asked to provide the First World War uniforms for the new Channel 4 adaptation of Barbara Taylor Bradford’s ‘A Woman of Substance’.
As you might imagine, a great deal of work goes into preparing the uniforms before they are sent to the studio for the fittings.
Lyndsay and Taff travelled up to Leeds to make sure that everything was adjusted for the best possible fit.
We provided a number of ‘Hospital Blue’ uniforms for convalescent soldiers, including a number of amputees.
The distinctive blue uniforms are quite a contrast to the drab khaki.
We have no control over which takes the Director decides to use, and mistakes can slip through the net, but we do our best to make sure that we get everything set up to give the Costume Department the best possible chance of success on shoot days.
🙂👍🏻
