guess who’s back… 👻

We’ll be honest, we lost our nerve a little.

After our last event was harder to sell than we’d hoped, we went a bit quiet on the events front. Because turns out putting something you’ve created out into the world and waiting to see if anyone actually buys a ticket is mildly terrifying 😂

But then we remembered the bit that actually matters.

We bloody LOVE doing them.

The making things. The eating things. The extras that definitely weren’t included in the ticket 😂 The tables getting louder as the night goes on. Women turning up on their own and leaving having met new pals. And you lot asking us when the next one is.

So apparently staying home wasn’t on our autumn to-do list after all.

We’ve been plotting. 👀

🍂 cosy afternoons
🎨 creative nights
🍝 really good food
🍸 a welcome drink (obviously)
🌙 a little autumn magic
🎄 and something festive before the year is out

Nothing to announce just yet, but keep your eyes peeled, ideas are getting slightly out of hand, and Ghostie has officially been brought out of retirement.

Merched Gwyllt events are coming back.

After multiple “why the f@*k are we doing this to ourselves?” conversations… we did, in fact, do it to ourselves 😂🏃‍♀️

CARDIFF 10K: DONE ☑️

Preparation was, as always, impeccable.

Nin arrived having done precisely ZERO cardio since the Porthcawl 10K in July.

Kim spent the summer prioritising gains over cardio because apparently muscles > functioning lungs.

A flawless training strategy from both of us.

But we showed up. We ran the whole bloody thing. And somehow… we smashed it 🥹

💪 Kim came home with a phenomenal SUB 80
🏃‍♀️ Nin knocked 2 minutes off her Porthcawl time and secured another SUB 90

Turns out you can achieve anything with friendship, questionable decision-making and absolutely no respect for a sensible training plan.

We are now both broken, walking like we’ve aged approximately 40 years overnight, and firmly in the “never again” stage of the post-10K recovery process.*

BUT we did this one for 🫶🏼

So if our suffering, poor preparation and sheer stubbornness have entertained you even slightly, we’d bloody love a little sponsorship towards an organisation doing brilliant work for people in our community.

POV: us anytime we go for a nice, easy run 🏃🏻‍♀️🫠🏃🏼‍♀️🥵

Approximately 4 minutes later:
“999… we think we’re dead…” 💀😂

Just two gals questioning every life choice that led them here, all in the name of running Cardiff 10K for ❤️

So while our training may currently be giving ✨medical emergency✨, the reason we’re doing it is actually very lovely.

You might have spotted that the women behind Merched Gwyllt, Nin & Kimbo, have somehow signed themselves up to run the Cardiff 10K 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️😂

On 6th September, we’ll be swapping cocktails and craft nights for running trainers and taking on the 10K to raise money for our charity of the year 🫶🏼

Community and connection have always been a huge part of what Merched Gwyllt is about, which is why supporting Age Connects Torfaen felt like such a natural fit for us. They do brilliant work supporting older people across Torfaen, helping tackle loneliness and isolation, build connections and make sure people have the support they need to live independently.

So yes… we’re running 10K. Voluntarily. And we’d bloody love your support 😂

A huge thank you to everyone who came along on Friday 🌸🥂🖌️

Honestly, our events mean so much to us, and getting to watch a room full of you chatting, laughing, painting, picking your flowers and just having a bloody lovely evening is exactly why we love doing them 👩🏼‍🐰‍👩🏻

We’re a little business with a very lovely community behind us, and every ticket booked, post shared, friend dragged along and bit of support you give us genuinely means the world 🫶🏼

We’ve got lots of ideas brewing for autumn and winter 👀🍂✨ so stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled… we’re only just getting started.
