What’s your favourite streetwear brand?

For many, fashion goes beyond utility. It’s wearable art that conveys self expression to the public.

Here at amateur we want to express art in a way that can be worn by anyone, as everyone at some point has been an amateur.

Our message is one that needs sharing more in the world with so many people intimidated to start something new or push themselves in case they fail. Although this can feel natural. The only way to become successful is to push past those barriers after all nobody started at the top..well unless you were born into royalty maybe.

We are an Eco aware brand, and we are doing what we can, where we can to do our bit. You know when you receive clothes in the post from famous high street brands? It’s exciting isn’t it? You peel back that plastic bag to reveal more plastic wrapped garments, but in that moment of trying on your new clothes, there’s a lost thought for the impact those plastic bags will have on the environment. Let me leave this here. Every year, over 300 million tonnes of plastic are created, and 8 million tonnes of it are predicted to end up in oceans. 8 MILLION TONNES. The fashion industry has their part to play on this. You’ve probably heard us go on about how obsessed we are with the packaging we use. Our Mailing bags are 100% compostable. Our bags are made from plants, corn to be exact. Meaning we are trying our very best to not contribute to the ongoing plastic problem we are facing in the industry. ♻️💚

Olympians train their whole lives, for achieving just one thing. They dedicate their every waking moment to be the best they can be, no days off, no cheating, just long, hard graft. Thousands of hours of practise, for 2 minutes of showtime, and a lifetime of victory. Behind every success story, is an individual who has put blood sweat and tears into achieving their dream. It’s not luck. The olympics is a direct demonstration for the power and determination that comes from amateurism, and although you may not be training to become the next triathlon medalist, the theory is the same. So, Where have we been?

We’ve been a bit quiet recently, sorry about that. Trying to have a business as well as all my other juggling pins can be a bit overwhelming at times, however, have taken this time to make the next launch even better!

How so?

I have changed my transfers supplier for even better quality!

I’ve also been working on some new designs which are now live on our website and our store is bigger than ever! Thank you for your continued support. The best is yet to come ❤️

How many times have you thought about throwing the towel in?

Have you ever had a crazy dream which you’ve gone after, and after a while you start to realise how much work and dedication it actually takes… ?

But even when it gets hard and you think about quitting you’ve got to remind yourself off that dream you first imagined, why you started and relight that fire and passion.

Sometimes things get hard but that doesn’t mean you have to hate every step of the way it is so easy to end up missing out on the enjoyment of the journey and instead fixate and get frustrated cause you’re not hitting your end goal.

So stop thinking about where you want to be and instead find the enjoyment on the steps to getting to that place. ❤️
