New basket drop from Zimbabwe 💞

We’re thrilled to share Kujatana’s stunning new designs from Binga and Ngamo. Building on your love for vibrant brights, they developed new baskets in pops of pink, blue and yellow.

They are perfect for entertaining with chic woven wine or water bottle holders, placemats, vases and bowls! They’d make a brilliant Father’s Day or wedding gift and are woven to be cherished for years to come ❤️

Community is everything ❤️ It was such pure joy to meet up with the beautiful and her daughter Daisy at their perfectly curated concept store in London!   Justine’s consciously designed and created fashion is a match made in heaven with .social handwoven baskets that reflect generations of cultural heritage. Swipe to see more of our mutual appreciation over the past six years!

We spent the better part of the afternoon discussing what sustainable fashion means to us: gorgeous pieces to cherish year after year. We also shared our gratitude for the solidarity of our communities! We are grateful to have such an incredible community of women that share our love for mindful, slow design.

Mmaa is 8 today ❤️✨💃🏽 our very first day visiting Vea, children were singing in the distant fields. As they came closer, explained they were coming to sing for us. Their mothers weaving and talent kept them in school. Today there are over 500 women weaving with and that is something to celebrate!!!🥳❤️

Nearly a decade and more than a few thousand baskets later, it’s impossible to overstate what a phenomenal impact Dorcas, Simon and all the weavers have made to their communities in the Upper East Region of Ghana. It’s hard to believe back in July 2017 just how far they would come and it’s been a huge privilege to share their talent with the world and see them fly. It was awesome to see them at work in London yesterday (next stop Paris!). They embody slow craft and belief in the power of heritage art and fair income. Thanks for being part of this journey with us 💃🏽💃🏽 here’s to and a dream born under the shade of a tree in Sumbrungu when Dorcas was still undertaking university undergraduate research on rural poverty and came up with a solution ❤️

Slow living, slow craft, slowing down and appreciating this woven wonder from and the wonder of nature. What a season it is with everything coming back to blossom outside the studio! We created Mmaa to give a platform to women holding and passing forward generations of talent and art. Thanks for taking a moment to pause and appreciate the beauty of it all 💞
