First steps into dressmaking. How to measure and adjust your pattern to fit.
Venue: Pink Scissors Shop Unit 5, Highwayman Business Park Bridgend CF31 1NJ
Thursday 17th June 2021 10am - 3pm £45. Class limit 5 people.
The class will be all about what you need to know before you cut your fabric and how to avoid common fitting mistakes.
You can choose any simple top, tunic or dressing jersey or woven fabric. I’m also running a sew a long class to help you cut out and construct the garment on Thursday 24th June 2021

Choosing the correct size on the pattern (not your ready to wear size)
All about ease.
Compare pattern sizes v finished garment sizes.
How to adjust your pattern to suit your measurements.
Learn full bust adjustment.
Learn full bicep adjustment.
How to choose suitable fabric.
The importance of washing your fabric.
At the end of the class you will have a pattern adjusted to you and ready for cutting out and first fitting.
We will spend time in the shop helping you chose patterns and fabric if you don’t already have them. Or discuss your chosen fabric and pattern for success.
