Let’s talk haggling at markets.
It doesn’t happen at every market, but it definitely happens more often than it should.
"Is that the best you can do?"
Would you walk into New Look and ask the same question? Probably not.
The reality is that small businesses need your support far more than the big high-street chains do. Every sale makes a genuine difference to us.
And if I’m honest, being asked for a discount always makes me feel a little awkward. I work hard to price my products fairly and reasonably from the start, so when someone asks me to reduce the price even further, it can feel like the value of my work is being questioned.
I completely understand wanting a bargain—we all do—but when you shop small, you're supporting someone's dream, not a huge corporation.
