After completing my Level 3 Floristry, I began to look for another hobby to keep me occupied. I had always liked the idea of being able to make my own soft furnishings and make everyday items individual by adding my own touch but did not even know how to thread a needle!! That said, by chance I spotted a local sewing class that was within my reach and decided to give it a go!! Much to my surprise
it was not as bad as I thought and I was impressed with the results of some of the things I was producing, as were some of my family and friends. After making christmas duvets with matching stockings and bunting for my family, I began making roman blinds, have begun recycling shirts and have also started making vintage clothing. I also do simple alterations - taking up trousers, skirts and curtains, but I have a lot more I want to do as my confidence grows. I am currently having a website constructed, where my makes will be available to the public. I also plan to incorporate my love of sewing with my love of flowers and have recently been asked if I would provide the setting for a vintage summer wedding 2017 - vintage dresses, flowers and all!!
