Didn’t take a photo before my client left… this was taken on Wednesday when I pinned the sleeves in place, which she found on Vinted. I was impressed at how the lace was a perfect match!

I don’t normally work at weekends but this was an exception as her wedding is only a week away. The shop were she bought the dress from did her alterations and they added the sleeves. She tried the dress on again last week and realised the sleeves didn’t sit well on her arms. She was panicking and was very stressed when she contacted me.

I hand stitched the sleeves on last night and my client came to try the dress on less than an hour ago. She left very happy. I was just happy to help 💕

Emergency alteration almost finished. Hand-stitching delicate lace off-shoulder sleeves on to a wedding dress. My client is getting married in one week… she contacted me on Tuesday, stressed and panicked, so I squeezed her in on Wednesday to pin the sleeves in place. She’s collecting tomorrow (Saturday).

Last week I attended my partner’s Long Service Award Ceremony at the US Embassy in London.

I had planned on wearing the outfit on the left, but I was unhappy at how ill-fitting it was on me. I have been so busy with sewing jobs that I only had the night before the ceremony to make the alterations to both trousers and jacket. I hardly had any sleep as I also had to alter my partner’s 2-piece trousers suit.

But it was all worth it in the end. I loved my outfit and I was the proudest lady there standing next to my amazing partner when we mingled with his company colleagues and managers 💕

I recently completed alterations on a 3-piece trousers suit to be worn for a wedding next month. My client is a wheelchair user and therefore I needed to make modifications to the trousers, making it wheelchair-friendly (using an old pair of my client’s modified jeans as a template). I unpicked and took apart both pairs of jeans and suit trousers before carrying out the alterations. The modified trousers are higher at the back with more room at the seat and lower at the front to reduce the fabric gathering around the waist and hips area. The legs are tapered and have side slits at the ankles to allow the feet to go through the opening with ease.

I removed fabric from the bottom part of the jacket (front and back), removing and repositioning buttons/buttonholes, to reduce fabric gathering around the waist and hip area (I also did this to the waistcoat). The waistcoat was altered to fit better by taken in at the sides, taken in the top half of the back and lowered the seams of the left shoulder.

I didn’t take photos of the jacket and waistcoat as basically they just looked shorter. The trousers however, looks completely different 💕
