A big shout out this to Voice ESEA - a great organisation with volunteers in London and Manchester doing amazing things to highlight issues related to the community. An especially big thank you as they offered us our first pop up in September 2023, when we were just starting out. We love their focus on data to drive change at a policy level and make a real impact on the lives of ESEA communities in the UK. They’re running loads of events this month, so please check them out if you can!

Addicted to Buo luo bao (pineapple buns)

If you want your child to start speaking your heritage language, start with something they already love.

My son is obsessed with pineapple buns, so we made some together, and they became the main topic of our conversation. Curiosity creates motivation, and motivation makes language feel natural.
