Chicory Blue Unique, hand made craft items from preloved textiles & paper. Workshops in hand stitched crafts, hand stitched repairing & rag rugging etc.

Hand worked repairs giving a new lease of life to beloved clothing, vintage garments, blankets, soft toys etc. I've always loved working with textiles, training in my earlier life as a Costume Interpreter. My passion is working with natural fibres & preloved textiles, a major part of my focus being on preserving fabrics, beloved clothing, vintage garments, blankets & soft toys etc. using sympathet

ic repair techniques and or visible mending (depending on the look required). With the focus now being on repairing and renewing rather than throwing away, there is something very special about giving items a new lease of life & maybe a complete new look! I run regular workshops teaching others the skills to easily repair their clothing etc. with simple hand worked techniques (which anyone can do).

This fine lady came to me for some repairs not so long ago. A stunning piece of hand made felt work which the owner really loves. Unfortunately the moths had had a little nibble. I repaired her & her nest using needle felting. I added some more colour to his beak too which had faded over time. A bit of a tidy up all round & a lavender bag popped into his nest to help keep the moths away, job done. Another happy customer!! I'm assuming she is a she....does anyone know if male blackbirds sit on eggs?

Here's a little something I created for my nieces birthday. This needle felted artwork is worked onto a piece of felted wool blanket. It stays in the embroidery hoop as a ready made frame to just hang on the wall. She was so pleased with it!
